In order to qualify for this course “free” Individuals will need to meet the following criteria;
- who are unemployed claiming JSA or ESA aged 19 or over, not in paid employment or self-employment and actively seeking work who have been unemployed for less than 6 months.

The Level 1 in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification is for individuals wanting to apply for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Green Card.
The CSCS Green Card is for individuals working within the labouring occupations. As of July 2014 CSCS introduced a new requirement for people to achieve formal knowledge based qualification, ‘Health and Safety in a Construction Environment’ Award. Completion of this award will demonstrate the individuals understanding because of key issues affecting safe working practices a construction environment.
